Jeremy Wegner discovered the Sugar Beets at a campus show in the early nineties and by 1994 had joined the band as a full member, making him one of their longest-serving players. Playing all things strings, his musical skills add textural depth to the Sugar Beets’ sound, from a raga-tinged sitar line where you least expected it, to mandolin that shifts the feel from PNW barn dance to something closer to “Irish countryside”. You can see Jeremy perform with a number of local bands and singer-songwriters, including the Klezmonauts, Maya love, Magpie's pitchfork, Laura Kemp, Peter Wilde and Walker T Ryan. Recently retired from a long career as a biologist at the University of Oregon, music now has his full attention.
