Paul was born in Philadelphia, Pa in 1957. His older brother Fred, who was a professional Jazz drummer, motivated Paul to study, & perform music at a very young age. He first picked up a saxophone at the age of 8. Paul studied music at The Berkeley School of Music. Paul has worked with many orchestras, symphony's, big bands, horn sections that have backed up many individual artists and world famous gruops, including: Jazz Musicians Jimmy Smith, Jack Sheldon, Tex Beneke, Horace Height Jr., The Righteous Brothers, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Drifters, The Platters, The Cadillacs, The Shirelles & numerous others. Since moving to Eugene in 2004, Paul has become a member of The Rainy Day Blues Society, & the Willamette Jazz Society, and has been playing music mostly in the Pacific Northwest. He donates time to help fundraise for many Lane County Non-Profits like Food for Lane County, MDA, The University of Oregon's Duck Football & coach Mike Bellotti, & fundraisers for Legal Aid. He has been playing with The Sugar Beets since 2007.
