Megan began singing in middle school and largely credits music as having saved her during difficult times. She began “jamming” with the founding members of The Sugar Beets in 1989 as a sophomore in college at U of O, where she also enjoyed singing with the U of O Gospel Choir. After finishing her degree in Global Studies with a focus on Latin America and Spanish Language, she was honored to have the opportunity to sing in Spanish with the Eugene salsa orchestra, Caliente (1994-1998). Megan and her husband, bass player Matt Keenan, met shortly before the jam became The Beets. Together, they have had the privilege of raising three beautiful souls (Rohan, Pearl and Sean Keenan) while being part of countless festivals, tributes, weddings, memorial services, inaugurations and celebrations throughout the PNW. The songbook is a dream come true for the whole family
